Life In Constant Motion

Greetings from the middle of the damn Atlantic ocean. Currently, we are sailing between high seas to the north and a hurricane to our south. Let me tell you, this ship is rockin' and rollin'. The only thing worse than showing up to the first day of 8am class is when the girl near you projectile vomits all over the place. I'd say at least 30 students had to run out of globbal studies this morning. Fortunately, I feel great! Simple tasks like walking dowth the hallway or taking a shower become awesome when 15 foot swells are involved. My classes are cool and seem pretty easy so far. Everyone on this boat is easy to get along with. Usually we have to pay for internet minutes to update our blogs. However, my kindle has worldwide wireless that can avoid SAS's charges. The keyboard is horrible but at least i can post little updates along the way. Thats all for now. Pictures and videos coming soon. Vamos a Espana! Oh...and go Broncos

Canada = Expensive

OK so change of plans.  It turns out trying to link my photos to this site is one giant clusterfuck that I don't need to deal with.  I'll just post my pics on Facebook whenever I get the chance.  My videos will still be posted here--and hopefully I will take lots of those.

I've spent the last 5 days in Nova Scotia and loved every minute of it.  Halifax has that New England feel without all of the asshole Patriots fans--so its pretty nice.  If you ever find yourself here I recommend eating at Salty's by the harbor.  They have awesome views of the water from the patio and I had a religious experience with the chicken curry pasta.

If you like to drink you are in luck because there is a bar/pub every fifteen feet here in downtown Halifax.  The adventurous partier should seek out "Club Dome" for a fun time.  A scandalous place with a scandalous name.  When it comes to beer I recommend Rickards Red.  Its delicious and cheaper than Corona!  When I say cheaper I mean still really fucking expensive.  That's pretty much how it goes in Canada.  Try not to faint when you have to shell out eight dollars for an ice cream cone.

Take a sunset cruise on one of the old tall ships for a great view of the city at night.  There's something about being on a boat that puts my mind at ease.  If you really need a place to zen-out and center your chi, drive to Peggy's Cove and sit out on the rocks.  I could have watched the waves come crashing in all day.  Its kind of a tourist trap but if you trek far enough you can find yourself a shoebie-free zone.

Speaking of boats I move on to the MV Explorer tomorrow! My journey has only just begun.  Next stop: Spain.  Tapas and sangria all day baby.  I really am the luckiest person in the world.  I don't have the right to complain about anything ever again.  Farewell for now...my next post will be from across the pond.  Wish me luck and lets hope I don't get seasick.

We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch - we are going back from whence we came. -- John F. Kennedy
